Assassin!!! Just as a "Checkers" has become synonomous to a plastic bag, so Assassin has become to three piece surf rods. The Assassin Blade has brought with it two revolutionary concepts. The first being the use of High Modulous Graphite(HMG) in surf rods, and the second being a truly multiple application single tip. The Blade has gone a step ahead of the Heavy Assassin by bringing almost zero flex to the base of the rod and much stiffer mid section, thus creating a direct transfer of energy up to the tip of the rod rather than having the bottom of the rod acting like a shock absorber and absorbing most of the energy that should be directed into the cast or the pulling of the fish. This is achieved by using an oval base section engineered in such a fashion as to eliminate any bend. When one combines this with high modulous graphite the result is truly astounding. The blade is also available in standard graphite, perhaps not quite as light and certainly not as stiff as the HMG version, but certainly a lot stiffer than any other conventional rod in the base. The amazing part is the tip, which although it is fairly soft (great when fishing smaller fish or fish that shake), once it is compressed in the cast there is no other give in the rod. This enables you to throw anything from 5oz to 9oz. The true revelation of HMG manifests itself in the Medium and Lite Assassin patterns. This material has revolutionised these rods by suddenly bringing to the fore a lighter and stiffer rod, thereby dramatically increasing casting distances and pulling power. There is no doubt that these rods will fast become top sellers.
Barry Wareham from Basil Manning, the owner of Assassin Blade, has a true winner here.

Selfs 10/0 hoeke is reguit gebuig.
'n Nuwe haaikoning is gebore.
Richard De Winnaar |
